Digital Silk Road - China’s Huawei undersea PEACE Cable reaches Kenya

Digital Silk Road - China’s Huawei undersea cable reaches Kenya - China's 15,000 kilometers undersea cable also known as PEACE Cable has arrived in Kenya, as Beijing pushes on with its "digital silk road" and Africa searches for the infrastructure for undersea internet cable it desperately needs for greater internet connectivity.

The $425 million PEACE cable, which stands for "Pakistan and East Africa Connecting Europe," has Huawei as a shareholder. The PEACE cable is initially a 15,000 km submarine cable from Pakistan to France, extended from Pakistan to Singapore for an additional 6,500 km, with main trunk landing in Singapore, Pakistan, Kenya, Egypt and France and branches to the Maldives, Malta and Cyprus.
